General Tips for Administering Peticare Remedies
Homeopathic remedies work by using minute doses to stimulate the body’s own healing processes. Unlike conventional medications, the exact amount per dose of a homeopathic remedy is not as critical. Whether you give a whole dropper or just a few drops, it’s the frequency that’s key as the remedy is triggering the animals own immune responses. Focus on how often you administer it, not necessarily the specific amount. Peticare remedies come in an organic glycerin base, which is palatable to most animals. This means they’re easy to give, and your pet won’t mind the taste.
Avoid contact with the dropper if you can. When giving remedies to pets like dogs and cats, try not to touch their mouth with the dropper. Instead, you can squirt the remedy directly into their mouth, onto the gums or on their paw (in the case of cats). This keeps the dropper clean for future use.
Water and Food as Options: If necessary and the below options don’t work for you and your pet, then remedies can be added to your pet’s water or food, but be mindful that if you put the remedy in their water, you should also provide a bowl of fresh water without the remedy. Animals can sometimes sense the remedy in their water and can self-medicate, we dont want them to avoid drinking if they don’t want or need the remedy. You can just put a few drops of the remedy on the food or water daily.
How to Administer Remedies to Different Animals
Cats
Cats can be a bit tricky when it comes to administering remedies, but they tend to be good at licking things off their paws. One effective method is to place a few drops of the remedy on the cat’s paw and allow them to lick it off. Alternatively, you can gently squirt the remedy directly into their mouth. If your cat is very fussy, you may also add the remedy to their food or water but this does mean you don’t know how often they are getting it.
Dogs
Dogs are usually cooperative when it comes to taking remedies. You can lift your dog’s lip and squirt the remedy directly onto their gums, where it will be absorbed. If your dog is reluctant to take the remedy this way, you can try giving it to them when they are relaxed and sleeping and can also add it to their food or water if needed. As always, make sure to provide a separate bowl of fresh water if you’re adding the remedy to their drinking water.
Horses
The best method is to fill the dropper with the remedy and place it in the corner of the horse’s mouth, then gently squirt it in (obviously you can not avoid touching the horses mouth with the dropper with this method, which means the remedy is best kept for use on that animal only). Most horses will allow you to administer the remedy again once they have tasted it, but you do need to be careful with difficult horses as we use a glass dropper. If your horse is particularly sensitive about having things placed in their mouth, you can also put the remedy on a small piece of bread or a treat, which they’ll likely eat up without hesitation.
Rabbits, Chickens, Guinea Pigs, and Farm Animals
For small animals like rabbits, guinea pigs, and other farm animals, the easiest way to administer the remedy is to add it to their drinking water. With the smaller pets you can add a separate water bowl, with farm animals best to just add to the drinking troughs, usually about a tablespoon a day is enough.
Administering homeopathic remedies to animals is a straightforward process when you understand the basic guidelines. The key is to focus on how often you give the remedy, rather than the exact amount. Peticare remedies, with their organic glycerin base, are palatable and easy for most animals to consume. Whether you’re caring for a dog, cat, horse, or even animals like birds, rabbits and chickens, there are many simple and stress free ways to ensure they receive the healing benefits of homeopathy.
